About

I'm Justin. I'll be the one teaching your student.

Steady Stone Learning is one teacher, not an agency. There is no roster to be assigned from and no rotating staff — you meet me at the consultation, and I'm the person at every session afterwards.

Justin, tutor and owner of Steady Stone Learning

I have spent more than twenty years teaching math and science — long enough to have watched the BC curriculum change more than once, and long enough to know that most students who think they're “bad at math” are simply missing something specific from two or three years earlier. Finding that thing is most of the job.

My approach is patient and step-by-step, and it's aimed at real understanding rather than memorised procedure. A student who understands why a method works can rebuild it under exam pressure. A student who has only memorised it cannot.

I also homeschool my own children. That means homeschool families aren't a category I accommodate — I know first-hand how much a parent is already carrying, and where an outside subject teacher genuinely takes weight off rather than adding to it.

I'm based in Kelowna, where I teach in person at the student's home or at a public library, and I teach online for families across British Columbia.
